Up for sale is a rare Gearbox 12-inch Amoco Ultimate gas pump bank marked "Prototype SAMPLE." This piece came from the estate of a former ERTL/Gearbox executive and appears to be a pre-production or sample version that differs from the standard retail releases. I dont think they produced this version.

Unlike the standard production versions, this example does not have the normal licensing/copyright markings on the bottom, further supporting that it was likely a pre-production sample.

Displays very well with normal light wear from age and handling.
I searched for another example of this specific 12-inch Prototype SAMPLE configuration but was unable to locate one, making it an outstanding addition for collectors of Gearbox, ERTL, Amoco, or Petroliana memorabilia. As with many prototype pieces, I cannot guarantee production numbers or exact history beyond its provenance.
